Hello Tribal Council-

I am making my inaugural post to the thesis blog. Yay! For your procrastination pleasure, here is a link to the Paul Simon interview I mentioned at lunch. It's really very interesting (and long, so it's good for procrastination). http://www.medialab.chalmers.se/guitar/simon.interview6.html

Also, I would like to point out that these are the lyrics to one of my favorite Simon and Garfunkel songs, Kathy's Song (for those of you who don't know, when I was little I went by Cathy, so it's very appropriate):

I hear the drizzle of the rain
Like a memory it falls
Soft and warm continuing
Tapping on my roof and walls.
And from the shelter of my mind
Through the window of my eyes
I gaze beyond the rain-drenched streets
To England where my heart lies.

I am so excited that we're going to London!!! :) I promise to be a good little travel agent and find all the information we need and make it the best vacation any of us have ever taken!

Ok, I must go get some work accomplished and also try to figure out how the hell Mary Poppins was able to tidy up the nursery by just snapping her fingers...I can no longer see the floor of my room, which is covered with books, clothes, paper, old issues of the New Yorker, and a few Dunkin Donuts munchkin boxes (I didn't eat them all myself, I swear!)...

Hello, all! After finally triumphing over the evil StartPage-W trojan virus, I have regained the ability to use Internet Explorer. Even more exciting, that means I can now join the thesis blog. Hurrah!

So I have some catching up to do in my posting.

1) I hear ya on the luddite quest, RRR. We have neither caller ID nor cable in my house back on the island of staten. Vive la resistance!

2) Rolo, thanks for the NYT article. That's good to know about... Think Lemann is more likely to grant me an interview b/c I'm a Crimed??

3) I think we all need to make a role that "Ye Old Alex" is not allowed to post to the blog when he's consumed "Ye Olde Spirits."

4) I ate too many tacos.

That's all for now. I promise a more inspired post later :-)
